Acorus calamus - is also used as a calming medicine (sedative), to induce sweating, and to treat rheumatoid arthritis and stroke. Some people chew the calamus to remove the smell of tobacco, as a stimulant, to increase their sense of well-being, and as a hallucinogen.
Zingiber officinale - is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.
Moringa Oleifera - is taken by mouth for "tired blood" (anaemia), arthritis and other joint pain (rheumatism), asthma, cancer, constipation, diabetes, diarrhoea, seizures, stomach pain, stomach and intestinal ulcers, intestinal spasms, headache, heart problems, high blood pressure, kidney stones, symptoms of menopause.
Allium sativum - is used to treat several ailments including fevers, diabetes, rheumatism, intestinal worms, colic, flatulence, dysentery, liver disorders, tuberculosis, facial paralysis, high blood pressure, and bronchitis.
Hugonia mystax - roots are astringent, bitter, sweet, febrifuge and anthelmintic. They are useful in fever, verminosis and vitiated conditions of vata, externally as a past for inflammations and used swelling due to viper bite.
Cedrus deodara - acts as an expectorant and is useful in curing piles, epilepsy, stones in the kidney and bladder, useful in fevers and in many other disorders. The oil is antiseptic in nature and helpful in curing skin diseases, wounds, urogenital diseases, diaphoretic as well as insecticide.
Brassica campestris - used in alleviating digestive disorders and joint related issues. The ethyl acetate extract of the seeds of Sarsapa have many compounds including vinylsyringol, sinapinic acid, syringic acid etc and these aids in the therapeutic actions of the herb.
Pluchea lanceolata is accepted as classical drug for arthritis. Its decoction is given for rheumatic conditions, muscular pains, edema, and fever and also applied externally as massage oil. The leaves are aperients, used as a laxative, analgesic and antipyretic.
Sesamum indicum - has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and analgesic properties.
