- The roots and bark of the stem of this plant prepared as a decoction and given in the dose of 60-80 ml twice daily for respiratory diseases, fever, periodic fever, cough, bronchial asthma, etc.
- The powder of the roots is given along with Trikadugu chooranam with honey for Bronchial asthma.
- The leaves are ground well and applied externally to induce ripening of ulcers and swellings.
- A Siddha formula prepared with this plant along with some other raw drugs and medicinal herbs is very effective for all types of fever.
- A paste of leaves and roots is applied externally over skin diseases especially fungal infections and Alopecia.
- Fresh leaves are given in diarrhea as well as Liver disorders.
Clerodendrum infortunatum is used in Ayurvedic and Siddha traditional medicines. Fresh leaves are given for diarrhea, liver disorders, and headache. The leaf and root are used as antidandruff, antipyretic, ascaricide, laxative, vermifuge, anticonvulsant, antidiabetic, and for gravel, malaria, scabies, skin diseases, sores, spasm, scorpion sting, snake bite, and tumors. In many traditional practices, the leaves and roots are widely used as antihyperglycemic.

Siruthekku chooranum is useful for [ illaipu/ iraippu] bronchial Asthma and Respiratory tract infections,
it is useful for suvasa kolarugal breathing Problems,
it is useful for [irumal] Severe Cough and Cold.
DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;
5 to 10gms with milk or water or ghee twice a day after food. or as directed by the physician.
