SIVANAR VEMBU KUZHI THAILAM;

Sivanar Vembu Kuzhi Thailam is a Classical Siddha medicine in the Siddha system of medicine, it is used to treat is used in the management of various skin diseases such as leucoderma, leprosy, eczema, infected wounds, insect bite.

ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Indigofera aspalathoides-  is popularly known as Shivanarvembu in the Ayurveda and Siddha systems of medicine. It belongs to the family Fabaceae. It is abundantly found in the southern part of India. The scientific literature reveals that the plant is known for the treatments like anti-inflammatory, and arthritis, and carcinogenesis. The phytochemical actives reported in the plant are Indigocarpan, specific to the species.

Celastrus paniculatus - is called Valuluvaiarisi in Siddha medicine. It belongs to the family Celastraceae. The plant is rich in the sesquiterpene esters namely Celapanin, Celapanagin, and Celapagin. The seeds and their oil is bitter, acrid, and thermogenic. It is mainly used as a brain tonic, appetizer, and treatment for skin disorders. Scientific literature suggests that the plant is an antibacterial, antimalarial, analgesic, antiarthritic agent

Corallocarpus epigeous - is called Akashagaruda in Tamil and Siddha system of medicine. It belongs to the family Cucurbitaceae. The Rhizome of the plant is known for the ailments like syphilitic rheumatism, venereal disorders, and chronic dysentery. It is also used as an anti-snake dote. It is mainly seen in the Deccan and southern regions of India. The pharmacological activities reported for the species are analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory too

INDICATIONS;

It is useful for Karappan [chronic weeping eczema] in children frequently occurring on the scalp & lower limbs.

It is useful forNaatpatta Viranam [chronic ulcers]

It is useful forVisham [state of toxemia]

It is useful for Vandu kadi [insect bites]

It is useful forSeelaipun [bed sores]

It is useful for Katti [boils] etc.

It is useful forAlso in kushtam [leprosy] 

It is useful forMegam [venereal diseases].

Useful in mosquito bite scars, suntan, whiteheads, sensitive skin.

DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;

Given internally in the dose of 5- 10 drops with milk or Sivanar Vembu Chooranum twice a day after food for 45 days.  Also applied externally, or as directed by the physician.
