Ulunthu Thailam is a classical Siddha medicine in Theriyar Thaila Varagam and Siddha Vaidhiya Thirattu, it is useful to treat arthritis and rheumatism

 ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Phaseolus mungo - is well known for its detoxification activities and is used to refresh mentality, alleviate heat stroke, and reduce swelling in the summer. it balances Vata dhosha and increases muscle bulk and strength

Capra aegagrus- goat milk - is important for the prevention of cardiovascular disease, cancer, allergy, and microorganism and used for the stimulation of immunity.

Sesamum indicum - it helps to strengthen the bones, muscles, and joints. it is mildly laxative, emollient, and demulcent. The seeds and fresh leaves may be used as a poultice.

Alpinia galanga - is used to treat fever, muscle spasms, intestinal gas, and swelling (inflammation); to kill bacteria and as a stimulant.  it balances Kapha and vatha dosha.

Anethum Sowa -antibacterial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, cardio depressant, carminative, digestive, diuretic, blood sugar lowering, blood pressure lowing, breast milk stimulating, and laxative properties.  it balances vatha dhosha.

Glycyrrhiza glabra - is a small perennial herb that has been traditionally used to treat many diseases, such as respiratory disorders, hyperdipsia, epilepsy, fever, sexual debility, paralysis, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, and jaundice.  good brain tonic, improves strength and immunity.

Zingiber Officinalis - treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, bronchitis, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory activities.

 Acorus calamus - improves voices tone and quality, 10useful in throat disorders, useful in treating disorders of Vatha dhosha imbalance such as neuralgia paralysis, etc.,

Ulunthu Thailam is useful for  Shaking palsy such as Sira Kampam [shivering of head]

 It is useful for Kara Kampam [shivering of hand]

 It is useful for Narambu Thalarchi [nervous debility]

 It is useful for Nadukkam [tremour]

 It is useful for Palvidha Vadha Noigal [various types of nervous disorders]

 It is useful for Keelvadham & Amavatham [arthritis & rheumatism]

Prolonged usage as a bathing oil [for 1 year] will eliminate Sevidu [deafness] & Ulnakku Valarchchi [arrest elongation of uvula].
